The scope of the project is to increase capacity and replace aging equipment in the McIver Chiller Plant. This includes the replacement of a 750-ton chiller and supporting infrastructure along with Cooling Towers and additional equipment to add needed capacity to the plant.
The Board of Trustees approved RMF Engineering Inc. from Raleigh, NC as the Designer for this project on February 4, 2025.
May 2026
Upon design completion and approval from the NC State Construction Office, bids were received in April 2026. Target Construction Start Winter 2026 – Completion Spring 2027.
