Associate Vice Chancellor, Sameer Kapileshwari, P.E. is a licensed Professional Engineer leading the Facilities Organization. Along with his Professional Engineering License, he is a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Accredited Professional, Certified Facilities Management Professional, Certified Sustainability Facilities Professional and he holds an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Safety Certification and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certified lighting surveyor.
Director of Facilities Operations, Jon Soter, P.E., M.B.A. is a licensed Professional Engineer currently leading the UNCG Facilities Operations department. Jon has over 40 years of experience in leadership, complex engineering, and driving organizational change. Jon is a volunteer Firefighter and EMT.
Director, Facilities Design & Construction, David Friedman, R.A. is an architectural expert and leads a team of 15 which includes GIS and Space Utilization & Planning. He is responsible for all the design and construction improvements on campus and ensuring stakeholders receive quality results within budget and schedule.
Business Officer, Capital Improvement Administration, Sandra Redmond is responsible for working with both the UNC System Office and the Office of State Budget and Management in establishing Capital project budgets and requesting allotments. She also manages the budgets for all Repair and Renovation projects funded with Appropriated / State Capital and Infrastructure funds as well as 12 other funds for the AVC for Facilities.
Director, Environmental Health & Safety, Tim Slone, is a Certified Safety Professional who holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Hygiene/Environmental Health and Safety along with an MBA obtained from the UNCG Bryan School of Business. He has led the Environmental Health and Safety Department for the past 12 years and has been a member of the UNCG team for over 20. Environmental Health and Safety administers programs in the areas of Fire and Life Safety, Laboratory Safety and Occupational Health and Safety at UNCG.
HUB Program Coordinator, Nereida Sutton, is the coordinator for our HUB participation program. She works diligently to engage the selection of minority vendors on all projects. Not just Facilities projects, she works all across the campus including housing and residence life, campus enterprises and auxiliary services. Nereida advances HUB advocacy during both design and construction phases.
